Sally Margaret Sharpe's Obituary
Sally Margaret Sharpe was born on July 21, 1942 at the Dallas Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX. She passed away on December 20, 2019 after a tragic automobile accident.
Sally spent her entire life in Dallas. She grew up in a very close family with her parents, Edwin Lee and Mildred Hill Sharpe, and her brother. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and was a cheerleader during high school. She went to college at East Texas State and graduated with a degree in Education.
Sally’s mother was a milliner – hat maker – so Sally developed a love for hats at an early age. In her adult life, people knew Sally as the ‘hat lady’ because she always wore a fanciful hat to match her outfit.
Sally was licensed as a Texas Realtor in 1978. She was co-owner and president of Step Savers Apartment Relocators for 14 years, and they had multiple offices in Dallas. She joined Ebby Halliday/Dave Perry-Miller’s InTown office in 1999. She has been an integral part of the InTown office since joining and she was awarded the inaugural Heart of Gold Award in February 2019. In fact, the award was created for and because of Sally!
Truly, to know Sally was to love Sally. People were immediately attracted to Sally with her colorful outfits, endearing spirit and her incredibly quick wit. She had friends all over town –at work, church, in her social groups - and even at WalMart, Walgreens and the vetenarian’s office. She loved to play golf, ski, go dancing, play Black Jack at the casinos, and travel with her friends.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her uncle Bill Hill, and her lifetime partner of 43 years, Judy Arnold. She is survived by two sons, her beloved dogs Gypsy and Noggin, and by her many friends.
A memorial will be held for Sally at the Wildwood Chapel in Restland Cemetery on Friday, January 10, at 12:30 PM.
