Sam Charles Classe's Obituary
CLASSE, SAM CHARLES passed away December 17, 2009 at the age of 87. He was the second of five children of the late Lena and Charles Classe. Sam’s passion for sports began at an early age. After playing football while attending Crozier Tech H.S. in the late 1930’s, he then played Minor League baseball in Shreveport, LA in the early 1940’s. he then served in the US Army during World War II and after his discharge worked briefly in the US Defense Plant in Grand Prairie. By 1950 he met the love of his life Josephine Padalino and they were married on April 16, 1951. Sam spent 36 years in the Grocery business in partners with his brothers and brother-in-law. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Josephine Padalino Classe; son, Charlie Classe and wife Barbara; daughter, Nina A. Day and husband Randy Turner. Also 6 grandchildren, John Classe, Jennifer Cross, Brian Day Kristal, Catherine Turner and William Turner and six great grandchildren: Harley Classe, Boston Cross, Mason Classe, Braylen Day Penn Cross and Destiny Ryan. As well as brother Vick Classe and wife Rosalie and sister Rosalie Palmer. Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home, Monday, December 21, 2009 from 6:00-8:00PM with Rosary beginning at 7PM. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Baybrooke Village, 8300 W. Eldorado Pkwy, McKinney, TX 75070.
