Sam Sherwin Fallis' Obituary
FALLIS, SAM SHERWIN March 22, 1914 – July 31, 2007. Sam passed away peacefully on July 31. He lived a long, happy, healthy, robust life. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Ernestine Cullen Fallis. He leaves his children who adored him and will miss him terribly; Margaret Crow and husband, Stephen, Sam Jr. and wife, Peggy, Mark and wife, Joan. Also, survived by grandchildren; Kelly Saucier and Amy Servat and husband, Russell, Mark Daniel and Michael Sherwin Fallis; great grandchildren,Cullen and Garrett Saucier and Georges and Sam Servat. He also leaves special friend, Martha Scott. Born in Palestine, TX to Dickson and Jesse Elizabeth Fallis, he grew up in Oak Cliff and served six years in the Texas National Guard. Sam loved his work as an independent cotton linter broker. He was known as “Gentleman Sam” and his word was better than a written contract. He embraced life and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cards, dancing and most of all, playing golf with his friends at Lakewood Country Club. The family wishes to thank his caregiver, Vivian Haynes, “his angel”, for the Christian loving care and friendship she gave our dad in his last months.
