Sam Edward Stock's Obituary
Sam E. Stock, 95, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Sam was born on July 24, 1929, in Corpus Christi, to the late Edward Leo and Grace (Hoegerl) Stock.
Sam proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952, mostly as a radar operator on the USS John A. Bole. Following his military service, he attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College (Texas State University) where he obtained a Business Degree. Thereafter, began a long career in the insurance industry. He went to work for the Dept of Insurance, then joined National Bankers Life and later worked for United American Insurance Company. Sam was a trusted and respected insurance executive.
Foremost, Sam was a family man. He married Frances Young Stock in 1957, which was a strong and loving marriage of 35 years, until Frances passing in 1993. Sam & Frances adopted two children, Blake and Anjela. Sam was an exceptionally good husband and father.
Sam thoroughly enjoyed being with family and friends; he was friendly and welcoming to all. Sam was a Son of the Republic of Texas and often reflected on the family’s long Texas heritage, which traced back to the 1830’s. He was a lifelong Catholic and strong in his faith.
Sam is survived by his beloved children, Blake Stock (wife Holly) of Plano, Texas, and Anjela Stock (wife Kim) of Seagoville, Texas; and two grandchildren Avery and Channing Stock.
Sam will be deeply missed.
Memorial service will be held at 10:30am, Feb. 10, 2025, at Restland Cemetery (Wildwood Chapel) in Dallas, Texas.
