Sammy Merrill was born in Dallas, 10:00 AM, Texas on January 16, 1933, to Donald and Viola Blankenship, he passed away on January 29, 2017, in Ennis, Texas. He was 84 years of age. Preceded in death by his wife, Sarchie Ann Blankenship; son, Sammy M. Blankenship Jr; parents, Donald A. and Viola Blankenship; brothers, Don and Billy Jo ; sisters, Marion, Hester and Celilia; brother in law, George A. Morris Jr and sister in law Wanda (Morris) Ables. Sammy is survived by his son, Cord Blankenship and his wife Donna; daughter Roxanne and her husband Kelly Martin; son, Chad C. Blankenship; grandchildren, Christy Meaney and her husband John , Stacy (Blankenship )Black and her husband Zack, Kaylee (Martin) Ensor and husband Robert , Rae Ann (Oliver) Beza and husband Jay, Katy (Blankenship) White and her husband Jimmy and Brandy Blankenship ; great-grandchildren , Olivia , Emma, Cailyn, Madi Beza, Alexis and Brooks Ensor, Anabel and Esther Meaney , Allee Blankenship, Ginger and Lukas White and Bentley Pruitt. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2017, 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Restland Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 11:30 AM at Restland Memorial Park at VET I. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to RFMI Outreach. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
