Sam Turner became employed after high school with Kraft Foods. However, interested at a very young age in being a policeman, as his Dad had been, he followed his dream. In doing so, he left a legacy of his love to law enforcement. He first became an officer with University Park and soon after joined the Lancaster Police Department. Lieutenant Turner, to many known as “LT”, portrayed much more than a man in uniform protecting people. Many folks on the wrong side of the law remember him with regret; yet, were introduced to a fair and honest, caring man. “LT” followed a simple rule: “Respect the law or pay the consequences.” Sam retired from law enforcement after 31 years in 2002. The next fifteen years he did armed security for Grand Bank of Texas and became “family” with employees and customers. Sam had a deep and continuous love for Our Lord Jesus Christ, his Savior. Sam’s strong, enduring faith will live on in his family and loved ones. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 3-5 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 3 PM at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
