Sammy Joe Yen's Obituary
Mr. Sammy Joe Yen, age 70, passed away peacefully in his home in Murphy, Texas on September 5, 2024. Born on December 8, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from W.H. Adamson High School and The University of Texas at Arlington, major in accounting. He was a shy, kind, generous, hard-working, and trustworthy person. Sammy always gave his time to others. He dedicated over 40 years of his career to Computer Associates. Sammy leaves his loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. He is lovingly missed and sweetly remembered by his wife, Lisa Wong Yen; his brother Jimmy and wife Connie, sister Jennie and husband Fred Bauer, sister Meralea Riso, sister Lorene, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members from the Yium family, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
Sammy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Li Yong Wong; his parents, Wai Yen and Kim Cook Joe; his brothers, Eugene and Don Yen; and his brother-in-law, Jonathan Riso.
A visitation will be held on September 18, 2024, at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX75243 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
On September 19, 2024, there will be a viewing at 9:00 a.m. and rosary at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Catholic Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Chinese Parish, 4201 14th St, Plano, TX 75074.
The gravesite ceremony and burial will be held at Restland Cemetery, Garden of Wisdom at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Chinese Parish, Plano, Texas.
