Brown, Samuel Wylie's Obituary
Samuel Wylie Brown of Dallas passed away peacefully on December 14,2025, with his wife Susie at his side.
Sam was born on August 23, 1935, in Blackfoot Idaho, as the fifth child of Seth Wilford Brown and Cassie Atelia Isom Brown. He was proceeded in death by his four sisters and one brother. Sam grew up on a potatoes farm near Blackfoot and loved to hunt and fish in the mountains.
He married Marie Wilcox in 1957, and they had two children. Pamela Ann Brown (Braithwaite) and Scott Wynn Brown. Unfortunately, Scott lost his battle to cancer in 1969. After the passing of his beloved son Scott. Sam moved to Dallas in 1970 and started working with 3M company, where he met Susan Dunlap and they married on January 30, 1971. She was the love of his life, and the two were married for 55 years.
Sam Worked for 3M for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He became a sales manager for their library detection. systems group for a significant part of the country. The company named an award in honor. The Sam Brown award was given to top salesman in his group for many years.
Sam and Susie enjoyed traveling, both in the U.S. and abroad. Sam also loved to golf whenever he got the opportunity.
Sam is survived by his wife, Susan and his daughter Pam Braithwaite (Steve), and his grandchildren. Ashley Braithwaite, Eric Braithwaite (Alycia), and Easton Braithwaite (Holly) as well as his great-grand Kensie, Lucy, Emmie, Jackson, Navey, Beckham and Macklin.
We are very grateful for his care which was given by Diane Cannon, Kathy Sinyard, and Bristol Hospice. Sam was a genuine people person. His gregarious presence, Boisterous voice and easy humor will be missed.
