Dr. Samuel Stewart Morgan's Obituary
MORGAN, DR. SAMUEL STEWART Age 83 of Dallas, TX passed away March 26, 2011 at his home in Dallas, TX. He was born Nov. 30, 1927 in Dallas, TX to Dr. Robert E. Morgan and Maude Sharpe Morgan. Dr. Sam attended N.T.A.C., SMU and in 1950 graduated from the Kansas City Univ. of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went into practice with this father, Dr. Robert E. Morgan. Dr. Sam was team physician for SMU from 1963 to 1983. He followed his father’s position there which went back to the 1920’s. Dr. Sam was a lifetime member of the Texas osteopathic and American Osteopathic Associations and Staff member of the Dallas Osteopathic Hosp. He was past member of the Masonic Lodge and the Downtown Rotary Club where he had perfect attendance for some 30 years. He was also an honorary member of the SMU Letterman Assoc. Dr. Sam was an avid all around sportsman and enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Lake Texoma. He was a member of the Highland Hunting and Fishing club and Lake Highlands United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death was his wife of nearly 62 years, Margaret G. Morgan. He is survived by his children; Dr. Sam S. Morgan, Jr. and wife Karen Morgan, Dr. Maria I. Morgan, DVM and husband Tim Hubert, Marcia Fithian Fess and husband, Wayne Fess. He was grandpa to Rachael Morgan, Cameron Fess, Gabriel Marie Fess, Mason Morgan Fess, Jeffery Fess and Marquise Fess. He was Uncle Sam to his nieces Duanna Coble and Melinda Pesina. Services will be held 3:00pm, Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
