Mr. Ralph Sandoval Torello's Obituary
Ralph Sandoval Torello, born June 2, 1938 in Chicago IL, passed away on August 17, 2016 in Dallas, TX. He is survived by four sons, Ralph, Charles, Steven, and Thomas, his daughter Rachael, and seven grandchildren, Bianca, Sebastian, Agustín, Rene, Antoni, Elioenai and Jordi, and his three siblings, Donald, James, and Diana. Service will be held August 22nd 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church on 5231 Meadowcreek Drive, Dallas, TX 75248, and followed by a funeral procession to Restland Funeral Home. Ralph grew up in Brooklyn, Queens and New Rochelle, NY, and he carried his cosmopolitan and practical New York attitude long after he left. A brilliant man ahead of his time, Ralph had a varied career as an entrepreneur of many trades. He graduated from Fordham in 1960 and Harvard University in 1963. Prior to the 1980’s, he worked for the Singer Corporation, and later co-founded Pacific National Equity in California, a private equity fund long before private equity became a worldwide phenomenon. Ralph would turn to many other fields, including computers and oil and gas, and served as a director with the AMEX-traded Competitive Technologies. Most significant to Ralph was his role as a loving father. He invested his time reading and teaching his children history, liberal arts, classical liberalism, politics and sports. He was an independent thinker, who favored disruptive truths that challenged the status quo. In the tradition of classical liberalism, Ralph Torello preached freedom for the common man, had no tolerance for war, and taught strong skepticism of political power. He remained a spiritual man faithful to God, a naturalist and a loving son. In his final years, he took care of his ailing mother who passed away in 2015 at 102 years of age.
