Sandra Larson Skooglund's Obituary
SKOOGLUND, SANDRA L. A bright light has dimmed in our lives. For 16 years, Sandy faced breast cancer with courage and grace. Just as inspiring, was her decision to end her struggle and place herself into the loving hands of God. Sandy epitomized joy, love, laughter, kindness and total selflessness ‘ all the good things in our world. Surrounded by her family, her death was beautiful and peaceful. She was an inspiration to all not only on how to live but how to die. Her pain is over, she is well again and Heaven is a better place because she is now there. Born April 18, 1939 in Youngwood, PA to Dorthea Larson and Matthew Benjamin Gault, she died on May 19, 2008 in Dallas, TX. She attended Thiel College in Greenville, PA where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Carl Martin Skooglund, Jr. She is also survived by her son, Carl Martin Skooglund III his wife Lisa and their children Sonia and Erik; daughter, Carolyn Beth Biggerstaff her husband EL and their son Jack; son, David Matthew Skooglund his wife Melissa and their son Benjamin. Sandy is also survived by her brothers, Matthew Benjamin Gault, David Albert Gault, William Gunnard Gault, and Robert Wright Gault, their spouses and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 22, 2008 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6411 LBJ Frwy., Dallas. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or Salvation Army of Dallas.
