Sanford Mitchell's Obituary
MITCHELL, SANFORD passed away November 1, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. He is formerly of Frankfort, Kentucky. He was born in Franklin County, Kentucky on January 11, 1927, to the late Albert and Eulayla Mitchell. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Mitchell and his three brothers. After graduating from Peaks Mill High School in Kentucky, he had several careers including carpentry, state employee, payroll accountant, and finally VP of The Cumberland Savings and Loan. He retired from the Cumberland in Kentucky. Sanford was a member of the Thornhill Baptist Church in Kentucky where he served as an ordained deacon and operated the sound system for the church. He was also a Mason. In 2006 Sanford moved with his wife to Dallas, Texas to be near his daughter and family. While in Dallas, he was a member of the Heights Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Richard) Smith; his granddaughters, Rebecca (Bo) Hodnett, and Julia (Dave) Kaufman; and three great grandchildren, Hannah Hodnett, Margaret Kaufman, and Andrew Hodnett. Services will be held on November 5, 2013 at 11:30 AM at The Heights Baptist Church.
