Sara Frances was a first cousin of my mother, Phyllis Kickirilllo Williams. She was always memorable among the Kickirillo cousins, most of them females who could have passed for sisters. Sara looked most like her Mother and I was lucky as a child to spend time in their house and always admired Aunt Jessie and her sister Laura. Sara came by her Southern charm naturally, and if she was a little stubborn, well I knew some Kickirillo's who shared that trait. My son, Max, spent many hours with ?Mammy? so I could take a break from being a single parent and spend time with Frances. Max loved Mammy and she loved Max. Her influence helped Max become the thoughtful and compassionate person he is today. Sara was a true southern lady, gentle and well-mannered but tough as nails when the occasion called for it.
