Sara H. Johnson's Obituary
January 19, 1939 – October 25, 2017Sara H. Johnson of Fairview Texas, beloved sister, wife, aunt and friend, died October 25, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Preston Meadow Lutheran Church in Plano. Final burial will be at Restland Memorial Park in Richardson.Sara is preceded in death by her parents J. Louis & Ruth K. Hamilton of Dallas, as well as her husband James R. Johnson. Sara is survived by her loving sister and brother-in- law, Sue and Norm Johnsen of Allen, TX. Other loved ones include beloved nieces Kristin (Jim) Henke of Franklin, TN and Karen (John) Lammers of Little Rock, AR as well as great-nephews Will, Evan and Blake Henke and great-nieces Claire and Anna Lammers.A Dallas native, Sara graduated from the University of Texas and was a career accountant with area firms including Recognition Equipment, Trammel Crow, Ernst & Young and Howard and Company. She was a longtime member of the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute for Certified Public Accountancy. Avid sailors and travelers, Sara along with her husband Jim were active in the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club and enjoyed sailing trips abroad. In her recent years, she enjoyed bridge, golf, and was active within her Heritage Ranch community.Sara was a member of First Presbyterian Church Dallas. Loved by her many friends and family alike, she will be remembered most for her kindness, generosity, love of books and travel, and the hospitable way she made others feel warm and welcome.Memorial gifts in Sara’s honor may be sent to Preston Meadow Lutheran Church designated for either Stephen Ministries or MOSAIC of Dallas, which provides homes for people with disabilities.
