Sara Agnes White's Obituary
Sara Agnes White was born March 28, 1924 in Sturgis, Mississippi, the oldest child of Maude and Ernest Wood. She passed away peacefully May 10, 2015 in Plano, Texas in her home surrounded by her daughters, Nina and Karen, son-in-law, Steven and grandson, Steven. Sara married the love of her life on May 3, 1945 in Clinton, Mississippi after a three-week courtship. She married Bill White, who was serving in the army at the time. After the war they moved to Chicago and soon after made their way to Dallas, Texas, living in Dallas and later Richardson for 61 of the 66 years they were married. Sara was first a teacher, then an accountant before becoming a mother. Sara is survived by her two daughters, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her brother Edgar, and granddaughter Kaitlyn. Sara was active in church her entire life, and enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading. She loved all of God’s creatures, often feeding wild animals and enjoyed watching the birds at her many bird feeders. Sara traveled extensively with her husband and often her first grandson, Jason, throughout the entire 50 states. Later she and Bill also took trips to Europe, cruises, and also traveled with her church group. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Sara’s name can be made to the Gideons International or the charity of your choice. The visitation for Sara White will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Sara White will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 12:30 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
