Sarah Frances Burkhalter-Gaulden's Obituary
Sarah Frances Burkhalter-Gaulden, of Garland, Tx died Friday, October 29, 2010 in Sherman Tx, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Ector, T x, September 27, 1923, to parents Manuel and Clara Kile, Sarah graduated from Ector High School and married Clarence Burkhalter in 1941. After Clarence’s death in 1980, she married Troy Gaulden of Gatland, Tx, in 1986. Sarah was a wonderful home cook and she used her talent to serve others as the Hostess of First Baptist Church in Garland, T x for several years. Sarah is survived by her daughter Claudia Garrett, her son and daughter-in-law Randy and Sherry Burkhalter, grandsons Bryon Luna and Bradley Burkhalter, sisters Martha Elk and Nina Bromley, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Sarah was preceded in death by her mother and father Clara and Manuel Kile, husbands Clarence Burkhalter and Trov Gaulden, four brothers and two sisters. Family visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, and the funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, November 1, at Restland Wildwood Chapel with interment following at Restland Memorial Park in Richardson, Tx, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
