Sarah Elizabeth (Beth) Looney Smithwick's Obituary
Sarah Elizabeth (Beth) Looney Smithwick went to be with her Lord on January 5, 2017. She was born in Cameron, TX on January 25, 1925. Beth attended college at Lon Morris, University of Texas and received her Master’s degree from SMU. She was married to Robert Neal Smithwick who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her only child, daughter, Jan Smithwick Disney. Beth retired from teaching school after 39 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Mayme Looney; sister, Virginia McNeill; brothers, Willis and M.R. and twin brother J.A. (Totter) Looney. Beth is survived by her grandchildren, Bryan, Renee and husband Jason, Sean, Erin and husband Tim; great grandchildren, Sarah Mae, Jack, Abigale and Meleah. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, loving friends, and daughter by choice, Lilly Cranor and husband Halbert. Service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11 AM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Beth’s name to your favorite charity or place of worship.
