Sarah Joan (Sally) Heermans' Obituary
HEERMANS, SARAH JOAN (SALLY) After a brief 4 month separation Sarah (Sally) Joan Heermans, Our Mother and devoted wife, was rejoined with Wallace (Wally) Thad Heermans, Our Father, the love of her life and devoted husband, on December 22, 2012 at 10:45 pm. They spent 64 years together here on this earth and can now spend eternity in heaven together for ever after. Sally was born on March 13, 1925 in Syracuse, New York and passed on December 22, 2012 and Wally was born on August 3, 1922 in Dallas Texas and passed on August 24, 2012. They were married on February 6, 1948. Sally is survived by 1 brother, Howard Henderson and 1 sister, Shirley Myers. Wally is survived by 1 sister, Janette Kloppe. Together they are survived by 3 kids, Michael and Wayne Heermans and Paula Brown, with 7 Grandkids and 11 Great grandkids. Sally served in the Army during WWII in New York at Mason General Hospital and then a brief time with Braniff Airlines. After marriage in Dallas she became a Mother and Housekeeper until the late 60’s when she joined Main Bank then Texas Commerce Bank and ultimately became JP Morgan Chase Bank and then retired. She enjoyed many years of doing all kinds of crafts, including sewing, ceramics, and collecting all kinds of figurines and doo dads and a’ great Mother. Wally loved the game of Golf and started playing when he was in College before WWII and then joined the Navy as an aircraft Mechanic in Hawaii. After the war he got married and worked with Southwestern Bell, AT&T and retired after 36 years of being a telephone, Pbx installer. He loved playing golf and spending Vacations in Hot Springs Village Arkansas with Sally. He was very devoted to his wife and family and a great father. Mom and Dad were long time members of St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Garland, Texas and were very involved members of The Searchers Sunday school class which was like a second family to them over the years. Many good times were spent with the class and they have been a great help to us in this whole process. Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Restland Wildwood Chapel with visitation 1 hr. prior to service.
