Sarah Maxine Scott's Obituary
Sarah Maxine Scott, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt,
was born on May 9, 1931 in Caledonia, Mississippi. One of nine children,
she was three years old when her family moved to Dallas, Texas following
the death of her father.
Sarah married Sam Scott in 1955, and they had two children, Brian Stephen
Scott, M.D. and Kimberly Scott Arianpour. The family attended Casa View
Baptist Church.
Sarah was always a strong and independent woman. She worked for many
years for the Texas State Court of Appeals. Sarah had a passion for family,
faith, reading, and baking. She baked alongside her daughter constantly,
especially around the holidays, preparing goodies for her siblings, friends,
and neighbors, with recipes handed down from her mother and sisters.
Sarah spent much of her retirement years devoted to helping raise two of her
grandchildren. Their “Gandy” was always there for them, including picking
them up from school and caring for them in the afternoons.
In her later years, Sarah was a member of Oates Drive Baptist Church
where she enjoyed fellowship with her friends and participated each year in
Operation Christmas Child.
Sarah died peacefully on June 19, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in
death by her husband, siblings, and son. She is survived by her daughter, her
three grandchildren, Jeremy Arianpour, Amy Arianpour, and Michael Scott,
and several cherished nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Maxine
