Sarah Jane Underwood's Obituary
Sarah Miracle Barker Underwood was born to A O (Fussie) Miracle and Quida Nell Miracle in Greenville Texas July 25, 1937. She passed away March 19, 2015 in Garland Texas. Growing up in Greenville, Sarah was a very active and popular student in Greenville High School, graduating and attending East Texas State College in Commerce Texas. She married her High School sweetheart Dewey Barker in June, 1956. They moved to Nashville, Tennessee where Sarah worked for the State Department for a number of years. Moving to Monroe, Louisiana, Sarah started her family. She moved to New Orleans, Louisiana and back to Greenville, Texas where her son was born. Sarah joined E-System in Greenville, Texas and a few years later moved to Garland Texas. Sarah married William (Rick) Underwood, April 2, 1975, with a blended family she continued to work at E-Systems until 1994. During this time she was a care –giver to her mother, Nell. Sarah enjoyed talking current events, television (one of her favorites was Dancing with the Stars) and movies with her many friends made throught her life’s journey. Those who went before her; parents, Fussie and Nell Miracle; step-sons, William Edward Underwood, and William (Rick) Underwood. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Kjer and husband, Duane and their two children, Lucas Ivey, Daniel Ivey and wife, Desi and their daughter, Harley; her son, Eric Barker and wife, Amy and their two sons, Clayton and Carson; step-daughter, Jean Underwood, and husband, Joe Zipper, and their two sons, Keigan and Brayden; brother, Billy Miracle and wife, Ann of Everette, WA; niece, Karyn Miracle Pleake and husband, Larry and their two children, Caityln and Caleb; nephew, Kyle Miracle; and cousins, Mozelle Smith, Janet Buford and Betty Grisham. A Memorial Service will be held in memory of Sarah at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at The Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
