Sary Som's Obituary
Sary Som was born on October 12, 1936 in Kandal Province, Cambodia, and he left this world peacefully on June 1, 2020, at the age of 83, in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his amazing wife, Sarom; 7 children: Sophorn, Sophea, Bora, Chenda, Rithy, Rithea, and Veasna; and 11 grandchildren: Christina, Sabrina, Angelina, Brittany, Brianna, Mitchell, Matthew, Brock, Sarah Grace, Isabella, and Jameson.
He was a genocide survivor who continually fought for his loved ones. He was a trailblazer who transplanted his family from a war-torn country to the land of the free, where he cleared pathways for his children to live fulfilling lives. He helped cultivate his descendants to be the best version of themselves. Most of all, he was a devoted family man. May his family-oriented spirit continue in his legacy.
Private Family Viewing will be held Friday, June 5, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 5, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
