Serban E. Constantinescu's Obituary
Serban Constantinescu (85) went to be with the Lord peacefully, surrounded by family at his home in Bonne Terre, MO on June 4, 2016. He was a long time resident of Dallas. He was born on May 29, 1931 in Giurgiu, Romania. In 1955 he married the love of his life, Anca Gheorghe and they have three children. Serban received in Romania a degree and subsequently a phD in Chemical Engineering. He worked in the Water Treatment division for the city of Bucharest, Romania and the city of Dallas, Texas for many years. He is the author and coauthor of several books and a number of articles in his field. He held 13 patented inventions, including for an energy-producing system from biodegradable residues (“biogas”). Serban’s main desire was to serve the Lord God, Author of his Salvation. He preached and taught the word of God, wrote and translated many Christian books, tracts and articles and was a missionary within and for Romania. Many times he put his life and liberty in jeopardy in serving the Lord and proclaiming and furthering the gospel during the Communist regime. Serban is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Anca; by daughter Ileana Denny (Steve); by sons Michael (Claudia) and Cris (Irene); by brothers Daniel (Anca) and Gabriel (Mariana); by sisters Persida, Iunia and Mihaela (Viorel); by 5 grandchildren (Matei, Andrei, Naomi, Simona, Phillip) and 13 great grandchildren; by uncles, aunts, and cousins. Serban was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Ecaterina; by brothers Cornel and Teodor and by sisters Mariana and Lidia. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 1:00- 1:40 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 2 PM in Restland Memorial Park. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 4:30 PM at the Believers Chapel, 6420 Churchill Way, Dallas, TX 75230. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
