I am shocked to hear that Serena is no longer in out midst. She alway told me not to worry about the things I don't have any control over. what a wonderful, friendly, jovial and courageous woman. She is with the Lord enjoying peace and joy infinitely more than the happiest man on this Earth!

Although we were not sisters by birth, you are and always will be my "sissy" by spirit. Your faithfulness to pray for family and friends, even in the face of your own pain and suffering was an inspiration to me and everyone who knew you. Your courage in the face of death was extraordinary. I will always love and miss you, but know that one day I will be with you again and see you in all your glory – singing on the front row of the Heavenly choir. I admired Annie for her bravery throughout her ordeal with cancer. I never saw or heard her feel sorry for herself. She loved life and looked forward to going to heaven. I worked with Annie in Tyler and will always remember she loved to debate and analyze every situation. Wish I could have bottled her energy and zest for living life happyly. We will miss her and our sympathy is heartfelt for the family and friends she gathered thru the years. Before she passed on, she promised to save me a spot, but told me not to rush…. I found myself pregnant 21 years old with no where to go. Serena took me in, made sure I got medical attention, and I stayed with her for a few months. We stayed in contact through the years. I have always had so much respect for her. She was a mom when I needed one.
We were blessed to have known Ann in H.S.and this sad news has just come to our attention. I know in my heart that her, already apparent goodness, accompanied her all her life. She had an inherent love for her fellowman. Just look at that smile! She will be missed by those who knew her before she wore so many other hats. Great Lady, always.
