Sharon Lynn Ballew's Obituary
Sharon Lynn Ballew, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, at Texas Health Hospital. She was 77 years old.
Born on March 10, 1948, in Odessa, Texas, Sharon lived a life full of love, kindness, and adventure. As a child, she spent nearly a year in Italy with her parents — an experience that sparked her appreciation for travel and culture.
She married Robert "Bob' Ochiltree, and together they lived in Japan while he was stationed there in the medical corps during the Vietnam War. They returned to finish school at Texas Tech University. They moved to Houston after graduation. They later divorced and Sharon found her soulmate and best friend, marrying Lindy Ballew on June 8, 1986. Together they shared 39 wonderful years of marriage, traveling to New Orleans, San Francisco, England, Wales, and enjoying many memorable trips to Belize.
Sharon's happiest moments were spent cooking for and surrounded by her family. Her warm smile and kind heart touched all who knew her.
Sharon is predeceased by her mother and father, sisters and brother, and her dear friends Ann Worrell, Jean Alton, Bill Larken and Darla Thomson, and is now reunited with them, Heaven will never be the same!
She is survived by her devoted husband, Lindy Ballew; her daughter, Tiffany, her son, Christopher Ochiltree, wife Lydia, her son Mark, wife Edi and Craig Ballew, wife Jennifer, grandchildren Anthony, Troy, Andre, Ashton, Connor, and Christopher Jr. and great-grandchildren; and countless friends whose lives she enriched.
A memorial service will be held at Restland Funeral Honie, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243, with a reception following at Stonebriar Country Club, 5050 Country Club Dr, Frisco, TX 75034.
