Sharon J. Roberts' Obituary
Sharon Joan King Roberts, 78, of Dallas, TX passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Sharon was born on September 27, 1940 in Fort Worth, TX to Clarence Pharis “Boa” King and Anna Faye Johnson. She married M.O. Roberts on January 19, 1963 in a snowstorm in Everman, Texas. Sharon attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK. She received her bachelors degree in Art and Fashion Design from Arlington State College (currently the University of Texas at Arlington). On December 7, 1960 she graduated from the American Airlines Stewardess College and immediately moved to New York City to begin her new career. Sharon met her future husband, who was a flight engineer, through the airline. Their courtship entailed coffee dates in various airline terminals across the U.S., where they played a game of seeing which of them could read the plane’s tail number first as it came in for landing. Sharon and M.O. resided in Alexandria, VA after their marriage, where they became avid antique collectors. They moved to Dallas in 1965. In the mid 1980’s, Sharon went back to work and enjoyed her time as a teachers assistant at Northwood Hills Elementary, and then as an artist for a private company, hand painting special request furniture and murals. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Jill Levy, son-in-law Raphael Levy, and grandchildren Barak Levy, Maxwell Levy and Helen Levy. She is preceded in death by her husband M.O. Roberts, son Kai Roberts, and sister Carole Cox.
