Sharon Steakley's Obituary
Memorial services for Sharon Steakley of Mesquite, Texas will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Restland Funeral Home’s Wildwood Chapel.
Sharon Venetta Steakley was born on June 9, 1947 in San Angelo, Texas the daughter of the late Turner and Hilda Musil Rhoden and passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 20, 2021 after a long and very courageous battle with cancer. She was married to Richard Steakley in 1966 in San Angelo, Texas and to this wonderful union a beautiful daughter Laura was born. Richard preceded Sharon in death in August 2012. Also preceding her in death are her parents Turner and Hilda Musil, her brother-in-law Ray Steakley as well as her and Richard’s best friends, Danny and Linda Brown.
Sharon was an outgoing person that loved to cook, go shopping, the game days at church and spending time with her family and friends. Perhaps, the greatest joys in her life we here grandsons Larson and Luke to whom she was always very supportive in their activities throughout their lives. Those that knew Sharon know that there could be countless hours spent telling the stories and recalling the wonderful memories that we have with her and she will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Sharon is survived by her only child, Laura Helm and her husband Jason of Forney, two grandsons, Larson Helm of Dallas and Luke Helm of Forney as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a large host of friends and other relatives.
