Sherian Belcher's Obituary
BELCHER, SHERIAN FAYE of Plano, Texas, passed away November 18, 2011, at the age of 64. She was born November 24, 1946, to Sam and Willie Mae Belcher. Sherian was a 1965 graduate from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas. In 1969, she graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Secondary Education, English & History. Throughout her education she set high goals for herself and thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of reading and learning. She was blessed with good friendships from her childhood and college years. As a college student, she began working during the summer of 1967 as a teller with Legacy Texas Bank (formerly Plano Bank & Trust). Upon graduation she chose to continue her career with the bank. It was in this venture that she found her fulfillment in helping others. Through her many years of employment, she enjoyed learning banking from the ground up. As a bank customer, you knew that Sherian represented integrity in all that she did. Many life-long friendships were made, from co-workers to customers. Sherian retired in 2010 after a 43 year career with Legacy Texas Bank. Sherian is preceded in death by her father, Sam Belcher. She is survived by her mother; Willie Mae Belcher, who is also retired after a 20 year career with Plano Bank & Trust, her sister; Jeanette Dickerson and husband Glen, and nephew; Nathan. She will be remembered by aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and many friends. Sherian’s family will always be grateful for two special caregivers and friends; Carol Whites and Dana Phillips. Sherian’s smile and personality had a way of making people feel comfortable whatever the situation. She loved people and laughter. Her family will always cherish the many wonderful memories of their daughter, sister, sister-in-law and aunt. Her nephew was the joy of her life. She was what every child would hope for in an Aunt. One of her greatest gifts was the ability to bring out the best in others. We will remember Sherian as we live out “our best”. The family will receive friends during a visitation an hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Stroke Association.
