Sherrie Ray Minze's Obituary
Sherrie Ray Minze, 78, of Kaufman, Texas passed away on September 3, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on October 31, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas to James and Eula Minze. He married Vickie Kay Womack on February 21, 1975 in Dallas, Texas. Sherrie served in the United States Navy from 1962-1967. He worked at Texas Instruments/Raytheon for over 40 years before his retirement. Sherrie loved living in the country and could always be found sitting on his back porch drinking coffee and watching his grandchildren and dogs play. He will always be sincerely missed, and his memory cherished by his loving family, his devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
Sherrie is survived by his wife, Vickie Minze. His children, Brandi Weir (husband, Jason Weir) of Frisco, Texas, Brandon Minze (wife, Andrea Minze) of San Antonio, Texas, and Deborah Jordan (husband, Kenneth Jordan) of Gun Barrel City, Texas. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren Caleb, Preston, Avery, and Emerson Weir; Rachel Jones, Derek Hagar, and Kenneth Jordan Jr. And by his four great grandchildren Eli, Gage, Braxton, and Riverleigh Jones. Sherrie was preceded in death by his parents James and Eula Minze, his mother and father-in-law Katherine and William Wright, sister-in-law Patricia Fisher, and his brother-in-law Michael Womack.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Restland Memorial Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
