Sherry Lynn Marsh's Obituary
Sherry Lynn Marsh of Plano, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 20, 2020. She was born on October 18, 1952 in Dallas, Texas and was the beloved only child of Glen Norris Green and Numaleah Opal Green. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Texas Tech University. She met Tony Marsh in the elevator of the building where they both worked in Dallas. They fell in love and were married on September 6, 1975. Their son, Matt, was born in 1977 followed by daughter, Abby, in 1979. Sherry worked as a branch manager for Kelly Services for more than 20 years. For the past 10 years, she was dedicated to caring for her mother. Sherry was an outstanding ‘Granny’ to Marta, Enoch, Ezra and Shepard.
Sherry was an extremely devoted daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. Tony wrote about her, “She is a true Wonder Woman. She has a wonderful heart and a long list of talents. She is loyal and guards and loves her family without reservation.” She was often over-the-top with generosity and care for others whether it was her grandchild or a homeless person. She would pack gallon-sized ziploc bags filled with thoughtful items to give out to the homeless she encountered. She was once a pen pal to a young girl in an overseas orphanage, sending letters and gifts. For her children and grandchildren, Christmas at Granny’s was like a trip to the North Pole!
Her talents included gardening, cooking, baking, hosting, organizing, and still being able to ride rollercoasters! She loved sunny days and working in her garden growing all kinds of plants, flowers, and vegetables. She herself was sunshine, her face and voice lit with love and joy whenever she was with family and friends. She was a master at taking lemons and making lemonade; always applying the most positive attitude to resolve or weather a challenging situation.
In her later years, Sherry devoted her life to Christ and found a church home and extended family in Stonebriar Community Church. She trusted in her Savior and found peace, joy, and contentment.
Psalm 16:9-11
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,
or let your holy one see corruption.
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Glen Green. Sherry is cherished and remembered by her mother, Numaleah Green, husband, Tony Marsh; children: Matthew Marsh and his wife, Cortney, and Abby Brown and her husband, Ryan; and Grandchildren: Marta, Enoch, Ezra, and Shepard Brown.
