Shirley Ruth Ashley was born on May 14th, 1925 in Elmhurst, Illinois and passed away October 6th, 2015 in Plano, Texas. She moved to Dallas when she was 13 and lived her whole life in the area. Shirley was a strong Christian woman who loved her family and trusted in Jesus. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Ashley; her father, Harvey G. Smith; her mother, Ruth Smith; her brother, Harvey Smith and her sister, Doris Gardner. Survived by her four loving children Karen Blackmon, Glenn Ashley and spouse Drew Andrews, Doug Ashley and spouse Chris Ashley, Jim Ashley and spouse Cheryl Ashley, nine grandchildren: Angela Blackmon, Alicia Green, Amy Coffey, Courtney Harrow, Whitney Ashley, Katie Ashley, Lee Ashley, Jacob Ashley, Emily Ashley, eight great grandchildren: Jeremy Pelser, Cooper Bolander, Joshua Green, Dylan Green, Carson Coffey, Peyton Coffey, Reagan Harrow, Vivi Harrow, one great great grandchild Aydin Pelser and another expected. The service for Shirley Ashley will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 12:30 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas with a visitation one hour prior to the service at 11:30. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. ___________________________________________________________________
