Shirley Cain's Obituary
Shirley Jean Cain, 87, passed away on August 14, 2019. Born in Oregon, MO, she was the daughter of Hugh and Mildred Pennel. She was the beloved widow of Dr. Gerald G Cain. She married the love of her life in 1949 and in 1964 they chose Richardson, Texas as their home. She lived in the same house for over 50 years where she hosted EVERY Thanksgiving and Christmas for her family. She retired from Richardson ISD where she was secretary for Special Education.She will be remembered as the best mom, grandma, and great-grandma in the world. Her family always came first. She was a dear friend and a very special lady to all she met. She loved to travel, her favorite being in a Model T. She was a lifelong member of Community Christian Church of Richardson, Texas and Lone Star T Club, DFW.She is survived by her brothers Berres Pennel and wife Lucille of Kansas, K Roger Pennel of Missouri and brother-in-law Dick Dunnihoo of Iowa; daughters Candy Jebavy and husband Robert of Decatur; Susan Bourgeois and husband Steve of Waco; daughter-in-law Doris Cain of Florida; grandchildren Carrie Smith and husband Kevin, Kristi Stewart, Elizabeth Mackey, Becca Tuley and husband Ryan, Amanda Bourgeois, Mark Bourgeois, Steve Bourgeois, Jr.; great-grandchildren Bree Neal; Aiden and Tristan Smith; Joseph, Franklin, and Steven Thomas Mackey. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Cain, her parents; sister; son Gerald Cain Jr. and grandson Steven Stewart.The Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at Community Christian Church, 1300 Holly Drive, Richardson Texas.Memorial donations may be made to Community Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
