Shirley O’Dell Jones, age 84, of Duncanville, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2019 in Dallas, Texas.Shirley O’Dell Jones was born on March 4, 1935 to the parentage of the late James and Frances O’Dell in Huntsville, Alabama. She married Otis Wayne Jones on August 12, 1950 in Dallas, Texas. Shirley lived in Duncanville for the past 47 years where she taught preschool for several years. She had a lifelong passion for antiquing and decorating, especially during the Christmas Holidays. Shirley truly adored all children but, especially, her four grandchildren.Shirley will be deeply missed by her daughter, Julie Dufour and her husband David Dufour; her son, Jerry Jones and his wife Penni Jones; her sister, Sandra Martin; her brother, Kenneth O’Dell; her 3 grandchildren Morgan Jones Wilhide and her husband Logan Wilhide, Emily Jones and Victoria Dufour Schreiber and her husband Scott Schreiber; her dear companion Jack Cates and many other loving family and friends.She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Wayne Jones; her grandson, Christopher Wayne Dufour and her brothers: Jerry Lee O’Dell and James Ronald O’Dell.A Funeral Service for Shirley O’Dell Jones will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 3:00 pm in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery with burial to follow. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service from 2:00-3:00 pm.
