Shirley LeMoyne Ellis, born April 5, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away February 27, 2021 in Plano, Texas.
Preceded in death by her mother Gladys Farrow Ellis and father, John M. Ellis, Jr., and beloved aunts and uncles.
Survived by three children she cherished, daughter, Johnette Roundtree Taylor and her husband Meredith Taylor and two sons, Randy Roundtree and Ronny Roundtree. She is also survived by her nephew Lynn Roundtree, and nieces Linda Roundtree Mumphrey and Cathy Roundtree and their families.
LeMoyne loved to travel and became great friends with many of her travel companions. In her travels, she sought out historical sites, scenic beauty, botanical gardens, tranquil waters, and viewing ocean waves. She had a special fondness for history of America's Gilded Age, as well as U.S. Presidents and First Ladies.
LeMoyne spent her childhood growing up in the Lakewood area of Dallas, Texas. She and her parents moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the 1950's, where LeMoyne graduated from Louisiana State University, married, raised her family, and worked in the family businesses as needed. After her children were grown and all living in the Dallas area, she returned to Dallas in 1992.
LeMoyne enjoyed attending Little Theatre. In Dallas she joined, and later lead, a senior center drama class for several years. She particularly enjoyed the Dallas Arboretum, and a special treat each year on her birthday was to spend the day seeing the beautiful flower displays.
She loved dogs and was especially fond of the family pet Snoopy and her grand dogs. A good book, a call from a friend, or the beauty of God’s handiwork, both in nature or her children’s faces were her favorite things. She will be deeply missed by all.
