Shirley Roasa Macabare's Obituary
Shirley Roasa Macabare, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, was called Home to be with the Father on October 18, 2023 at the age of 87 years old. She passed away peacefully in her home in Garland, TX surrounded by her four children after succumbing to pancreatic cancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lucino Roasa and Paulita Dolorico Roasa of Luisiana, Laguna in the Philippines, husband Sebastian B. Macabare, as well as 4 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her son Stanley Macabare, daughters Aileen Garton, Elaine McKenzie, and Kristine Macabare-Adams, as well as four grandsons Joshua Macabare, Sebastian Nicholas Macabare, Spencer Macabare, Landyn Macabare-Smith and granddaughter Morgan Macabare-Smith. She is also survived by brother Danilo Roasa.
Shirley worked as a medical technician in the chemistry lab at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX (now Baylor Scott and White) for 33 years before retiring in 2009. She enjoyed gardening, cooking delicious food for family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and grand-doggies. Her illuminating smile and warm presence will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Wake service will be held on Sunday October 22, 2023 at Restland Cemetery Chapel in Dallas, TX beginning at 6:00 pm.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Monday October, 23, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place directly after the funeral service at Restland Cemetery.
