Shirley Ann Mays' Obituary
Shirley Ann Mays, 79, passed away on January 13, 2020 in Denton, TX. She was born February 12, 1940 in Richmond, Missouri to John and Mildred Pike. She graduated from Turner High School in Kansas City. After high school, she worked as a model and then a homemaker. After several years of being a devoted and hard-working wife, mother, and grandmother, she founded a residential and commercial cleaning company. Shirley loved everyone she met, but her biggest joy was her family. She was an amazing Christian woman.
She is survived by her children, Don (Kari) Turner, Bruce (Theresa) Turner, Barry (Vicki) Turner, Sarah (Jason) Toschlog, Gerald (Linda) Mays, Sandy Mainous, and Sherrie (Austin) Baker; her 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; her nephew, Kevin (Michelle) Pike; and her long-time friend Billy White.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred Pike; her husband, Jerry Mays; her brother, Don Pike; her grandson, Austin Baker IV; and her nephew, Brian Pike.
The viewing will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, TX. The funeral service will follow at 11:15 AM. Shirley will be buried at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to American Heart Association or National Kidney Foundation.
