I was in the single ward. I was a visiting teacher. Bob was the Bishop. I've been to their house. I will miss her.
I first met Shirley Medaris in 1980. I was in my early 20’s and was hired by EDS. My first Sunday in Dallas I went to church and Shirley Medaris was my Sunday School teacher. She was the epitome of what I thought a Texas woman would be like. Remember this was the 80’s and everything was bigger in TX. It still is. Shirley had big hair, big jewelry, a big heart, and a big TX accent. She was everything I though Texas represented. I knew immediately I was going to like living in TX. Shirley is beautiful, graceful, has that amazing Texas accent, is warm and friendly. She will be missed. JoEllen Sills
I remember really looking up to and admiring Shirley when I was a young mother who had just moved to Carrollton, Texas into the Dallas 6th Ward. She had this way of taking everyone under her wing and making us feel welcome and loved! She was such a great example. Such a beautiful person inside and out!!!
