Shirley Maddox Moseley's Obituary
Shirley Maddox Moseley, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the age of 87 in Dallas, Texas.
Shirley is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Clarkson Pratt Moseley and children Patricia Floeck, Michael Prather (Charlotte), Kathryn Franks (George), Brent Prather (Lisa) and Nard Moseley. She will also be greatly missed by her six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her only brother, James M. Maddox.
She is predeceased by her parents Ova Marshall Maddox and Ursula Gournay Maddox, son Clarkson Pratt Moseley, Jr. and son-in-law Richard K. Floeck.
Shirley led a lively social life in both Dallas and New Orleans. She was an enthusiastic member and contributed to several organizations including The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, The Dallas Theater Center and The Dallas Ballet. She enjoyed many community celebrations in New Orleans, especially those with The Knights of Babylon, a traditional Mardi Gras Carnival krewe. Shirley and Clarkson also experienced countless adventures in their travels around the globe and throughout the United States.
Shirley’s true passion was designing and decorating their many homes in Dallas, New Orleans and Colorado. She loved cooking and entertaining family and friends in all of her residences.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 on Tuesday, November 22 at Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Dallas, Texas. Interment and reception will immediately follow at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
