Shirley Louise Shaw's Obituary
Shirley Louise Shaw was born on June 14, 1935 to the parentage of Joseph and Avalonia Dedman. She received her education in Longeview, Texas. She did domestic work for over 40 year with the Thompson family who retired and continued to support her. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1952 and united with the Evangelist Temple Church under the pastorage of Supt. Travis B. Cannon and Supt. Freddie D. Sheppard.
Mother haw faithfully served as Church Mother, Supervisor of Women’s Dept., Sunday School Teacher, Bible Band Teacher, Usher Board and Coordinator of the Kitchen Ministry. She was a licensed Missionary in the Church of God in Christ under Supt. Freddie Sheppard.
On December 6, 1951 Mother united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Frank Shaw, Sr. To this union six children were born (3 boys and 3 girls) . Her husband (Frank Sr.) and one son, (Maurice) preceded her in death.
Mother Shaw was truly a women of God. Her aim in life was to be a help to others. She wanted to be a nurse. Though she never became one, she was a care giver to many. Nursing and even opening her home to give shelter and care.
A woman who will be truly missed.
