Shirley Ann Stinebaugh's Obituary
Shirley Ann Stinebaugh lived a beautiful life that influenced many. Shirley transitioned peacefully, in her own home on the morning of August 12, 2020. She was surrounded by the loving embrace of her three grandchildren who cherished her beyond measure. Shirley was born in Mattoon, IL and had one sister, Carolyn. Although the girls differed in age, they would always remain close as they grew into adulthood.
Shirley met the love of her life, Harold ( from Nevada, Texas), and after graduating college and they moved to Dallas where they spent the majority of their lives. Shirley and Harold had two daughters, Karen and Cindy, and three grandchildren from their oldest daughter. After retiring, Harold and Shirley traveled the world together visiting six of the seven continents. The memories and love they shared is still talked about at holidays.
Although Shirley was widowed in 1994, she never remarried and did not allow grief to hold her back. Shirley, known as Mimi by her grandchildren, was the glue holding the family together. While she remained vigilant in family matters, she still took time for herself and continued her travels. Her new travel buddy was her daughter Cindy, but she let her grandchildren tag along sometimes too.
We are all beyond grateful for the treasured memories Shirley left us with. For those closest to her, we will remember her warm generosity, excellent bridge and spade skills, her kind smile and loving hugs, as well as her spectacular Christmas extraordinaire. Shirley's Christmas tree could win any contest, it was fantastic every year.
Shirley was precededed in death by her husband, Harold J. Stinebaugh; her daughters, Karen Stinebaugh-Rae and Cynthia Stinebaugh. She is survived by her Sister, Carolyn (Keith) Gentzen; Her nephews, Mark (Debra) and Shane (Ginna) Gentzen; Her devoted grandchildren, Kelsey Rae, Whitney (Adrian) Rae-Diaz, and Taylor (Veronica) Rae; her great grandchildren and favorite ice cream buddies, Colten and Luna Rae.
The impact Shirley has left on our hearts and souls will last for generations to come. She will be remembered as a fierce advocate for the wellbeing of her family and an exquisite soul we were all blessed to know.
Our beautiful Stinebaugh Matriarch, Shirley, will be going on her last great travel adventure with her beloved daughter Cindy, the morning of 8/21/2020. Their vessels will be cremated at 8:30am, side by side.
