Shirley Joanne DeGroot Taylor's Obituary
Shirley Joanne DeGroot Taylor went home to be with her Lord on February 27, 2026. Shirley was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois on October 13, 1939, to the late Edward and Martha DeGroot. She was the Loving wife of the late Billie (Bill) Taylor, stepmother of Sandra (Bruce) Powell, Jeff (Carmen) Taylor, and Diane (Michael) Gabbert and mother of Rhoda (Christopher) Kerkes and Sheryl (Steve) Tucker. Grandmother of 22 and Great Grandmother of 28. She was the beloved sister of the late Grace (Ross) Seeman, Arnold DeGroot and Roger (Joyce) DeGroot and the favorite aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on March 5, 2026, from 6-8pm at Restland Funeral Home.
Service will be held on March 6, 2026, at 1pm at First Baptist Church Dallas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Dallas nursery room 113.
