Shirley Ann White's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley White, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. She left us peacefully to be with the Lord, while at her residence with her husband and family on Wednesday, May 26th.
Our mom was the strongest woman we have ever met. She survived many tragedies in her lifetime and met them head on with her fierce faith in God. She was always willing to help others, donate her time and friendship and she loved people so deeply. Shirley was very involved at her church and ran the children’s ministry for years, she loved Bible studies and enjoyed spending time with her church friends on the weekends. She grew up on a farm, but she loved to shop!!
If she wasn’t home, you could always find her at her weekly outings in Northpark Center. She loved amusement parks, she was an incredible cook, she kept an immaculate house and if you stayed with her, you knew not to leave home unless you had made your bed!
Shirley lived a full life as a dedicated wife for over 63 years to her husband Tommy and the deep love they had for each other was a rare find. She treasured her family and embraced every minute with them. She was a wonderful mother and the sweetest Mimi to her two grandkids. She had a sassy and ornery personality and always made people around her laugh. She worked as an airline stewardess, an accountant and as a hearing aid specialist in her later years.
She is survived by her husband Thomas White, her daughter Tina Morton and son-in-law Richard, her daughter Lisa Cowen and son-in-law Rick. She is also survived by her two granddaughters, Lexi and Zoe Cowen.
She made friends wherever she went. The legacy of her spunky spirit, passion for God, love of family and zest for life will live on through all that knew her. She loved her family and instilled her strong values in her daughter’s lives. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Please join us for a celebration of Shirley’s life which will be held in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Dallas, 13005 Greenville Avenue Dallas, Texas on June 4th beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow after services.
