Ms. Shiu Hu Price's Obituary
Shiu Price was a caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away after a too-short battle with lung cancer on October 20, 2023. Shiu's cheerful personality and sweet smile will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Shiu was born on June 5, 1942 in Keelung City, Taiwan. She married Roger Price in Taipei, Taiwan on March 13, 1968. Together they raised two sons, Robert and Thomas in Garland and Rowlett, Texas. As a busy mother of two young boys, Shiu studied for and obtained her US Citizenship in 1974. Shiu worked for HatCo in Garland, Texas, until her retirement in 2003. She spent her retirement helping to raise her grandsons, traveling, spending time with friends, and playing bingo and taking chair yoga classes at the Wylie Senior Center.
Shiu is preceded in death by her parents, Liu-Xiang and Hong-Feng ; her husband, Roger; and her sister, Helen; and she is survived by her brothers, Lung Bi and Lung Jung; her sons Robert and Thomas, Thomas's wife Rebecca and their sons, Jacob and Zachary; her granddaughter Heather, Heather's husband Brandon and their two children, Liam and Hadley.
