Sidney G. Clark's Obituary
Clark, Sidney C. was born on January 09, 1923 and passed away on July 12, 2014. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School, Houston, Texas in 1940 and attended Texas A&M for 2 years, before graduating from Rice University in 1948. Sidney served in the US Navy in the South Pacific as an enlisted man and was discharged from the Navy as a Lieutenant (JG). He worked for Armco Steel for 34 years and retired from sales management in 1982. While in Atlanta Sidney served as President of the Southeast Travelers Club and served as chairman of the board of the Darville Library. He headed up the local Red Cross and Community Chest Drive. In Houston Sidney served as president of St. Andrews Lutheran Church. In Dallas he served on the board of Directors of the White Rock YMCA. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice and son, Ernest. Sidney is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, Danny; daughters, Anne and Kathy; son-in-law, Gregory; daughter-in-law, Anita; step-daughter, Kathy and husband, Kent Beal; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Services will be at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Bethel Lutheran Church, with visitation one hour prior.
