Sidney Lorraine Davis' Obituary
Sidney Lorraine Davis took the final steps of her lifelong Christian walk on June 25, 2020 to reunite with her one true love, husband Marvin, who preceded her in death May 17, 1972, Born to parents Minnie and Jasper Knight on November 21, 1920, Lorraine was the second youngest of 13 children. She shared her love and commitment to family with all her siblings, nieces and nephews but shared a special bond with her brother Buck, sister Elsie, Elsie's daughters Dena, Rhonda, Donna, Jane and Dena's daughter, Pam. After graduating from Florence High School, Lorraine moved to Austin TX where she graduated from Nixon Clay Business School In 1946. Shortly thereafter she met her eternal sole mate Marvin and after a whirlwind romance, they married on November 7, 1948. The marriage produced three sons and in 1964 the family moved to Dallas TX. In 1965 Lorraine and Marvin joined Lake Highlands United Methodist Church where she attended Sunday school and Traditional worship services each Sunday until her health and hearing fell into decline last year. Her faith was steadfast and unwavering even when she lost her loving husband at the age of 52 and was diagnosed with cancer 3 months later. She found strength in her faith helping to found the Mary Martha Sunday school class which she subsequently taught for 40 years. She loved her family and she loved the Lord. Her passions were cooking, Bible study, jigsaw puzzles and large family gatherings, Her beautiful and compassionate spirit will be sorely missed by all who had an opportunity to know her. Lorraine is survived by her sons Mike, Steve and Bruce, daughters-in-law Debbie and Denise, grandchildren JD, Chase, Shawn, Tina, Stacey, Jennifer and Sarah and 11 great grandchildren all of whom she made to feel Individually special.. A visitation with viewing at Restland Memorial Funeral Home will be Sunday 6/28 from 1:00 to 3:30 PM . A family burial service will be held on Monday 6/29. Arrangements for a memorial service are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Lake Highlands United Methodist Church PO Box 551389, Dallas, TX 75355,
