HURST, SIDNEY J. Came to his rest and peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 8, 2007. Born in Dallas, TX on November 17, 1917, the only child of Mary Jane and Sidney, Sr. Sidney is survived by wife, Jean King Hurst; daughter, Phyllis Hurst Camp and husband, Jack; grandchildren, Matthew Campand Joy Camp and husband Jeremy; great granddaughter, Jewel; step children Dr. Karen King, Elizabeth Chambers and husband Jim grandchildren Steven and Clay), Ginger Sager and husband, Rod (grandchildren Mona, Molly, Lauren, Will, Elizabeth and Dennis), CAPT William King, USN and wife, Tamara (grandchildren William and Alexandra), Jeffrey and wife, Susan. He was active in Wesleyan Class of First UMC Richardson. He served as a major in the US Army Artillery from Omaha Beach to the Battle of the Bulge. Sidney worked 42 years as an Engineer at AT&T and Lucent Technology in Dallas.
