Silas Carl Dietz's Obituary
Died peacefully at his residence in Dallas, TX. He was born February 18, 1909 in St. Louis, MO and lived there until his move to Dallas in 1998. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School. He attained his Electrical Engineering Degree from Washington University and his Bachelor of Law Degree from City College of Law and Finance while working full time for Southwestern Bell where he worked for almost 50 years. He served his country during World War II, receiving his Honorable Discharge as Major, Signal Corps- USAR & Captain AUS. Upon retirement from SWBell, he was a long-time participant in the Answer Man program at the Missouri Botanical Garden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Keymer Dietz. He is survived by his three children: Denis Dietz of Overland Park, KS; Donna Dietz of Dallas, TX; and Debra Dietz of San Antonio, TX and her three children, Anna, Davis and Karlton. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the excellent care that was provided by the staff and everyone associated with Signature Pointe on the Lake, his place of residence for the past 10 years. A private service will be held for his family in Dallas. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
