Simon C Gonzales' Obituary
On Friday, September 15, 2017, Simon C. Gonzales was escorted to heaven by angels at the age of 87 years old. He was born in Corsicana, TX to Antonio Gonzales and Rachel Castanido on December 5, 1929. He is preceded in death by parents Antonio and Rachel and siblings, Mike, Tony, Henry, Robert, and Juanita. Throughout his life he always seemed to approach challenges with a smile and optimism. He was a very humble and loving man who had great ambitions and dreams to excel both professionally and personally. In high school, he proudly involved himself in school activities and groups. He held a position in his high school homeroom as secretary. To help him plan career choices, he became a Junior Rotarian and was mentored. Simon loved singing and had a wonderful voice. Joining the choir helped him further develop his singing talent. Simon graduated as valedictorian of his class and given a scholarship. He then later moved to Dallas, TX where he met and married Gloria DeLuna. He became a restaurant manager for what was to become a Dallas favorite eating place. They had three children and life was good. Life then took a turn after a personal injury accident. He continued through life with the same cheerfulness, faith in God, love for family and friends, and personal humility. His love, wisdom, and kindness will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family. He is survived by: Gloria DeLuna (lifelong best friend), Simon Henry Gonzales (son) and wife Lou, Adrian Gregory Gonzales (son) and wife Consuelo, Susan Michelle McMillan (daughter) and husband Richard, Grandchildren: Adrian Gregory Gonzales Jr., Laura Rodriguez, Elizabeth Margaret Gorman, Alicia Michelle McMillan, Ashli Brooke Nicole Gonzales, Andrea Sade McMillan, Lucita Gonzales, Simon Henry Gonzales Jr. Great-Grandchildren: Mikayla Beth Manning, Devin William Manning, Nia Elizabeth Gorman, Joshua James Gorman, and Jarid Vasquez Jr. Family Visitation: Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at 12:30p at the Restland Wildwood Chapel John 14:2“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
