Smith Rodney Williams' Obituary
WILLIAMS, SMITH RODNEY Born in Italy, Texas on January 8, 1936 to Willie and Zayda Mae Williams. He moved to Milford and Hillsboro, Texas where he spent the next 12 years in the U.S. Airforce where he retired in 1965 as a staff sargent. Specializing in the B58 Hustler Bomber project. He earned many degrees while serving in the airforce. After his military retirement, Rod went to work for Giller Tool in Dallas. In 1975, Rod took an instructors position at Industrial Trades School in Dallas where he taught electronics and radio/tv classes. In 1980 he took a position with Watson Electric Supply Company as an industrial automation specialist where he retired in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sherry Williams of Garland, Texas; 4 sons, Mike and wife Marie, Richard and wife Lisa, Charles and wife Tereasa, Todd and wife Lisa; daughter, Cathy and Husband Gerald; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and sister, Gail Basket. Visitation will be Wednesday July 11, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home, Service will be Thursday July 12, at 12:30 pm at Restland Memorial Chapel.
