Soeun Tim's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Soeun Tim Soeun Tim, born on August 4, 1945, in Hometown Run Village, Kuoch Dey Commune, Maung Russey District, Batambang Province, Cambodia, peacefully passed away at the age of 78 in her home in Carrollton, Texas, United States of America, on December 4th of 2023 at 11:30 AM. She was the daughter of Sok Tim and Oun Ku and had 7 siblings - 5 brothers and 1 sister. Tragically, Four of her brothers, Sary Tim, Saroeung Tim, Sarun Tim, Kimseng Tim, and her sister, Nga Tim, lost their lives during the Pol Pot regime. Sath Tim currently resides in Philadelphia. Despite the challenges faced by her family during those difficult times, Soeun Tim exhibited resilience and courage. Soeun Tim married Svay Keo and together they had four children - two boys and two girls. Unfortunately, two of her daughters, Sombath Keo and Savoeun Keo, and her son, Sopheara Keo, did not survive the atrocities of the Pol Pot regime. Savann Tim, her surviving son, later married Thanan Pen, and they have 2 sons named Sirirathmony Tim and Jayjetha Tim. After enduring the harrowing experiences of the Khmer-Thai border, Kao I Dang refugee camp, and Sakeo 2 refugee camp, Soeun Tim and her family were fortunate to find refuge in the United States of America. In 1985, she settled in Carrollton, Texas, where she embraced freedom and built a new life for herself and her family. A devout Christian of Khmer Baptist, Soeun Tim was known for her kindness, generosity, compassion, loyalty, strength of character, and hardworking nature. She lived her life in accordance with her faith, accepting and respecting the beliefs and desires of others. Her wise counsel to avoid insulting the beliefs, desires, and love of others will be a cherished legacy for future generations. During this time, Soeun Tim gave birth to her youngest daughter, Sorinda Mao. Soeun Tim passed away due to age-related illness, surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love and a family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her son Savann Tim, daughter-in-law Thanan Pen, daughter Sorinda Mao, grandson Sirirathmony Tim, grandson Jayjetha Tim, granddaughter Thaliya Davan Nary Man, and grandson Tristan Javier Zamora. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for all the support and condolences received during this difficult time.
