Sonja Roberts Holman's Obituary
Sonja Roberts Holman, born February 5, 1940, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 14, 2024, at the age of 84 in Dallas, TX. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and devoted friends and will forever be remembered for her amazing sense of humor and generous spirit, which knew no bounds.
Sonja was an adoring wife, caring mother, doting grandmother, and friend to many.
She will be remembered fondly for her faith and service to the Lord. She had an extremely caring heart and would never pass up an opportunity to help someone in need. She delighted in working with children, and for over 25 years, she was the Director of the Parents Day Out program at White Rock United Methodist Church. It was in this role where she touched and impacted the lives of hundreds of children and their families, who came to know and love her.
Sonja had a steadfast love for her husband who preceded her in death in 2019 and her daughters and their spouses as well as her grandchildren who were her pride and joy (and her grand-dog Cody). She held a special place in her heart for her loving and loyal housekeeper, Nubia, and her daughters, Natalie and Kiara, who were always there for her, even until her passing on Sunday.
Her family always looked forward to, and will forever miss, her singing Happy Birthday to each one of them on their special day despite it being off-key and at a high tempo. Her sense of humor was always present, even until the day before her passing. She was a sweet and kind soul who loved big and can now rest in peace as we return her to her Lord and Savior and her beloved husband, Morris.
The impact Sonja had on all who knew her is immeasurable. Her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering faith will continue to guide us in the days ahead. Though she is no longer with us physically, her spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
Sonja was preceded in death by her stepfather and mother, Walter and Norma Roberts, and by her loving husband of 60 years, Morris Holman. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Heather and Ran Holman and Holli and Jim Holbert; her amazing grandchildren, Zeke and Jake Holbert, and Rance, Roark, and Rankin Holman; and her half-siblings, Jack Roberts (wife Pat), and Paula Roncace (husband Jon).
Visitation will take place at 2 PM on Thursday, July 18, 2024, followed by a Service at 2:30 PM at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
